You'll see a "Page Forbidden" error (as in the screenshot below) when you try to access a start.me page without the right credentials for that page. It's also possible the page has been removed. In this article, you'll learn more about your options.
Instructions
- Click the Go to homepage button, to open a page you have access to.
- Now open the Me menu (user icon) > Account details to see the email address you're currently using. Make sure this is the one you intended to use. If not, please log out and use the correct one.
- When you install one of our extensions, you could have created an anonymous account. Under email, you'll see an email address like this one: 660eXXXX881f-3d5638af@dummy.start.me If you see that, please register your account with a valid email address to avoid losing access to your pages. Once you've logged out of an anonymous account, we'll delete your pages, which might result in a 403 error when you try to open that page again.
- In your browser settings, check the On start-up settings (Chrome). Make sure you haven't set up a specific URL as your start page, but the start.me domain.
- If you want to access a shared page, created by someone else, there are a few steps to verify:
- Make sure the public address is correct.
- Make sure you still have access to the page by checking if it's listed in your My Pages. Page owners can revoke access at anytime and you won't be notified. They can also archive a page, so you'll lose access. Contact the page owner might clear things up.
- Once you've lost access, you'll get a Page forbidden message.
- Clear browser cache and cookies If you still cannot access your page, we recommend clearing your browser cache and cookies. You can follow the instructions per browser on the following links:

After clearing your cache, sign in again to your start.me account.
